LANsurveyor Feature » Export Network Maps to Microsoft Office® Visio®

  • Export network diagrams automatically to Microsoft Office® Visio®
  • Auto-populate Visio SmartShapes

After LANsurveyor has automatically discovered your network and produced a network diagram, this network diagram can be exported into Visio format with just two mouse clicks.

Exporting LANsurveyor network diagrams into Microsoft Visio format automatically populates Visio SmartShapes with network discovery data – a huge timesaver! SmartShape technology is used to represent network devices, automatically populating each node's Custom Properties with the node's IP address, network name, fully-qualified domain name (FQDN), and more. Support for SmartShapes also means that you can use Visio's built-in network device reports and integrate with the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) plug-in for enhanced network security.

LANsurveyor can automatically display a Level 1 network diagram with just routers and network segments, or you can select Level 2 to display routers, switches, and network segments on your network diagram. You can even create a hybrid map with just the nodes connected to a specific switch (or switches), plus the rest of the Level 2 network devices. Regardless of which network view you select, you can automatically generate a Visio network diagram based on your customized network map.

LANsurveyor supports Microsoft Visio 2003 and Visio 2007.
